Objectives
The aim of this workshop is to demonstrate, in an pedagogical way based on group work, the principles on which typographical design are based In this case, and given the extension of the workshop, modular alphabets will be designed. In addition to an approach to type design, graphic design skills will be broadened and improved since it is type design that best illustrates the harmony between forms, rhythm and contrast.
Modular Alphabet:
Those alphabets whose characters are constructed using a limited number of modules, which remain separated.
Participants
Up to a maximum of 16 participants divided into four subgroups each of which will complete a different project (typography for something specific: a logo, a front-page magazine headline, a poster or a brand). Participants will have to work on paper or on a computer, in which case they will need to be familiar with Bézier curves.
Prerequisites
All participants must complete a documentation process beforehand and come to the workshop with examples of modular alphabets that they consider attractive.
